Dr. Derri Sandberg, Optometrist

Dr. Sandberg grew up in Fargo, North Dakota. She attended the University of North Dakota where she received her bachelor of Science degree in Biology. She received a doctorate degree in Optometry from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon in May, 2007. While at Pacific University, Dr. Sandberg worked to emphasize her knowledge in contact lens by completing a thesis on the physiological impact of soft contact lenses. She received an Outstanding Contact Lens Clinician award from Vistakon for her clinical work as a student.

Dr. Sandberg received clinical training at the Portland Veteran's Administrative Hospital while expanding her knowledge of glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic ocular health care. She continued her training at a private clinic setting in Snoqualmie, Washington while emphasizing primary care optometry and LASIK post-surgical management. Dr. Sandberg gained experience at several specialty clinics in Portland, Oregon specializing in areas of vision therapy, strabismus (eye alignment), and ocular disease.

She began her career by moving to Central Oregon and joined Dr. Carl Ryan & Associates in July, 2007. She has been involved with numerous volunteer activities including screenings for The Lion's Club, Special Olympics, and various schools. In her free time, Dr. Sandberg and her husband, Mike, enjoy hiking, snowshoeing, and skiing.
