Other Services
Laser and Cataract Referral and Post Surgery Care
Our office has working arrangements with several qualified surgeons to provide services for refractive laser surgery and cataract surgery. We provide post surgery care under a co-management program with these doctors. In this way, the patient has the combined efforts of experienced eye care professionals to maximize his or her chance of success for these surgical procedures.
Computer Vision Care
Patients who work in a computer environment can place a great deal of strain on their eyes. Our office has the ability to assess the individual needs of our computer patients and to thereby provide the lens type that will meet the demands of today's high tech work environments.
Insurance Assistance
Dr. Carl Ryan and Associates currently accepts most major insurance vision plans. Because vision coverage varies greatly from one company to another, we strongly recommend that you review your eye care coverage with your insurance representative prior to your appointment. This will make it easier for our staff to accurately assist you in billing your vision care claim. There are two types of insurance for eye care: routine vision care and medical eye care. Your routine benefits usually cover the vision examination and spectacle glasses or the examination and contact lenses. Rarely do they cover both glasses and contact lenses. In some cases only the examination is covered. Our office, if given the information in advance, will gladly inquire with your insurance company to establish what your benefits cover for routine vision care. We will do our best to find out your benefits, but we can only give the patient a quote and not a guarantee. In the end the patient is ultimately responsible for knowing what their insurance benefits cover. The medical eye care insurance usually covers eye infections, eye disease and suspect medical conditions of the eye. Special tests needed to evaluate these conditions are usually covered. |
